First let me start by introducing myself. I am Blaine Lippe the former Chief Operations Officer for eSportsTV and one of the first and best players in America's Army. I know this community very well and have played this game far longer than most of you being that I was one of the original members of ST-6 who started the AA community years ago.
As for eSportsTV when we were doing the AA casting, it was shotty at best due to AA being first a free game that has little to know potential for video casting effectively. I heard complaints all the time in reference to pre-recording so gamers couldn't cheat or the settings weren't correct. Have any of you had experience with video casting matches? I doubt it and it was our first time working with AA from a casting stand point, for that I appologize but the biggest issue is all the crying I hear and complaints about the gaming community (HTGN, TWL, EGLN and eSportsTV) who make it possible for you to do more than simply play a video game. We aren't paid for what we do, we do it for the community and we can't please everyone. Also AA is a free game developed by inexpensive game developers contracted by the US Army. I know quite a bit about the Army since I have been in for over 10 years and I know the Army goes with the cheapest labor they can find, even to design a "FREE" video game. So if you guys feel it so important to cry about a free game, cry to those who developed it and ask for better features that allow for video casting and a better spectator mode. I have been pushing them to do it for years but it is the Army and I assure you, they could care less about you. They simply want recruitment numbers, that is why the game was designed in the first place as I was one of the individuals who demonstrated it at the Pentagon years ago.
My point being, don't blame those who try to help the communtiy by offering more activities and services, regardless of how bad you think those services are because we also work for free and aren't perfect.
The AA community should be the last to whine about anything, again it is a FREE GAME! |
